how to be genius ?
Read / Watch / Listen to Something COMPLETELY Outside Your Usual Areas of Interest
If you only ever go to the same sources for new information and influence every day, you’re limiting yourself to a narrow view of the bigger picture. That means you leave out a lot of inputs that could drastically change how you see the world.
To avoid this mental quicksand, spend at least 10 minutes a day reading an article, listening to a podcast, or watching a video about a subject that you have NO OTHER INTEREST IN.
Watch a physics demonstration… learn how something was made… read an interview with a cinematographer or a fashion designer… listen to a video game review or an economics podcast… scroll through the reviews of a restaurant in a city you’ve never been to, for a type of food you’ve never had before.
Why?
Because you’ll be introducing your brain to a whole new set of stimuli.
And even if you don’t necessarily remember what you learned about science, politics, culture, art, etc., you’re still storing that information away for later, in the new wings of your renovated mental library.
Now, you may not remember that physics lesson, but you’ll remember a few of the terms. Or you may not remember who won the Italian election, but you’ll remember a few details about how they campaigned or how their government works.
Why does this matter?
Because someday, one of those arbitrarily remembered tidbits will collide with something else in your brain and you’ll think of a new idea. Or you’ll be talking with someone who works in a totally different field than you do, and you’ll suddenly remember a random piece of trivia that helps you form a lasting social bond. Or, best of all, you’ll find a new topic of interest that you want to learn more about, which you never would have even thought to investigate in the first place if you hadn’t forced yourself to give it a try.

IQ and genius
*The Terman longitudinal study in California eventually provided historical evidence regarding how genius is related to IQ scores. Many California pupils were recommended for the study by schoolteachers.
*A genius is a person who displays exceptional intellectual ability, creative productivity, universality in genres or originality, typically to a degree that is associated with the achievement of new advances in a domain of knowledge. Despite the presence of scholars in many subjects throughout history, many geniuses have shown high achievements in only a single kind of activity.
